We put "soul" in Sol Cafe. A space of lively music, culture and delicious eats & drinks.
Tucked away in Northern Rogers Park off Howard Street shines a sunlit coffee shop called Sol Café. It's easy to pass by whilst fulfilling your daily routine but with enough curiousity, you'll find yourself breaking away from the norm and into a space of lively music, culture, pleasing aesthetics and of course, delicious coffee beverages and food! Speaking of which, our food and specialty drink menu reflects our interest in diverse flavors from the regions where we get our main and guest roasted coffee. From our Ethiopian spiced "On Devon" falafel on fresh local Naan to our "Thailight Zone" beverage that incorporates an assortment of Thai spices, coconut cream and a range of espresso from Peru to Brazilian, you won't be disappointed nor will you run out of options!
Are you a writer? Artist? Student or just a person who has some free-time? Swing by to not only experience our colorful palette of flavors but the community of Rogers Park & Howard Street that sustains us. We may feel like a specialty coffee club with poppin' music but the reality is, we want to be a part of your club. A club of community gathering, support and education. We'ved partnered up with Family Matters to teach essential skills to the underprivileged youth via summer work programs. Our space has been used to help educate the community about their rights, activism and action via grass-roots movement and pedagogy through A Just Harvest, Let's Go Chicago, Family Matters, Gale Greenhouse, Peterson Gardens and other local participating organizations. We hope to do much more for our lovely community and if you're curious about what's going on around the neighborhood or if you're interested in using our space, ask our friendly baristas!
